Cole International is monitoring the situation and supporting clients as CBSA continues to process delayed commercial messages.
Last updated: May 5, 2026
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is continuing to process delayed commercial messages affecting Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and eManifest portal transmissions.
This may impact clients and service providers who submit trade data through EDI or the eManifest portal. Some users may experience delays in receiving CBSA messages, including acknowledgements, reject messages, Release Notification System notices, completeness notices, or other related responses. eManifest portal users may also see trade data remain in an “Updating” status while processing continues.
Cole International is actively monitoring the situation and continues to support clients with customs release and border processing requirements.
If you have already submitted an EDI or eManifest document, please do not resubmit it unless instructed. Resubmitting documents can increase message volumes and may contribute to additional processing delays.
Clients with questions about the status of their goods should contact their Cole International representative for support.
Highway carriers proceeding to the border during this issue should ensure drivers have the correct paperwork available to present upon arrival, if required.
This update is part of a broader Trade News series on the current CBSA processing delays. Cole International will continue to share related guidance for importers, carriers, and trade partners as more information becomes available.
