The three organizations signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to evaluate potential port operations, cargo services, and infrastructure development along a proposed Arctic trade corridor. ## **What does the trade corridor agreement cover?** The ⁠[agreement between Arctic Gateway Group, CentrePort Canada, and DP World](https://www.dpworld.com/en/news/canada/mou-canada-new-arctic-trade-corridor) establishes a two-year framework for evaluating commercial, operational, and infrastructure opportunities along a proposed Arctic trade corridor. It focuses on assessing DP World’s potential involvement in port operations, logistics services, and related activities at the Port of Churchill, North America’s only deepwater Arctic seaport connected to the continental rail network. The organizations will also explore opportunities to move containerized, bulk, and project cargo, including grain, agricultural products, critical minerals, and machinery. Discussions may cover terminal development, strategic investments, and potential joint ventures. However, the MOU is non-binding and does not commit the parties to specific projects or investments. ## **What roles will the three organizations play?** The agreement brings together existing port, rail, and logistics infrastructure to explore opportunities for developing the proposed corridor. Arctic Gateway Group, an Indigenous-led organization, owns and operates the Port of Churchill and Hudson Bay Railway. CentrePort Canada connects the proposed corridor to Winnipeg’s road, rail, and air cargo networks. And DP World brings experience in port operations and international logistics.
