RIZON announced the Canadian debut of its electric commercial vehicles this April. Scheduled for availability beginning June 2024, the RIZON electric trucks will help achieve zero emissions by 2050 and transform the transportation sector in Canada.

RIZON, the latest addition to Daimler Truck's innovative lineup, announced the Canadian debut of its electric commercial vehicles this April. Scheduled for availability beginning June 2024, the introduction of the groundbreaking Class 4 and 5 RIZON electric trucks marks a significant stride in advancing sustainability and transforming the transportation sector in Canada.

The Canadian market is witnessing a surge in demand for sustainable fleet solutions, driven by incentive programs and the country’s commitment to reduce emissions by 2030 and achieve zero emissions by 2050

In line with Canada's drive towards a greener future, customers and businesses can benefit from the zero-emissions vehicle (ZEV) program incentives when purchasing or leasing light-, medium-, or heavy-duty vehicles.

The Canadian government will invest millions of dollars in the ZEV programs to encourage Canadians to adopt zero-emission vehicles.

The iZEV program for light-duty vehicles offers up to $5,000 in incentives at the point of sale, while the iMHZEV program offers up to $200,000 for eligible electric trucks and other vehicles.

Provinces such as British Columbia and Quebec offer supplementary incentives to further encourage sustainable transportation adoption.

Moreover, to achieve Canada's goal of reducing emissions by 2030, the Government of Canada plans to introduce an integrated strategy to decrease emissions from medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (MHDVs). The strategy aims to have zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) contribute to 35% of all MHDV sales by 2030.

The Government also plans to develop a regulation for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles (MHDVs) powered by Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEVs). This regulation mandates all MHDVs to be ZEVs by 2040, based on feasibility. Additionally, there will be interim regulated sales requirements for 2030 that will vary for different vehicle categories.

Equipped with charging ports compatible with existing car charging infrastructure, RIZON’s all-electric vehicles facilitate seamless and eco-friendly operations, helping businesses utilize their vehicles efficiently.

RIZON electric trucks also provide fleets with an effective and environmentally responsible solution. With zero tailpipe emissions, reduced operational costs, and reliability, they will set a new benchmark for sustainable business solutions.
