BREAKING: All travellers must use ArriveCAN as of Nov 30, 2021

Attention to all carriers, commercial drivers, and importers who travel to the USA to pick up their goods:

Please be advised that as of November 30th, 2021 ALL travellers are legally required to submit their information electronically in advance of entering Canada using ArriveCAN (free app or website).

There is an informed compliance period from November 30, 2021-January 15, 2022. During the informed compliance period, fines will not be issued, and quarantine-exempt clients will not be quarantined for failure to use ArriveCAN. Quarantine exempt travellers include truck drivers and commercial importers traveling for the purpose of Trade and Transport.

Key points:

  • Travellers who are entering Canada for the purpose of Trade and Transport will provide their information once in ArriveCAN, and will use the same receipt for each entry into Canada until their travel history changes, exempt essential service status is nullified, or they travel for other purposes.
  • Travellers will need to update to the newest version of the ArriveCAN app
  • Exempt traveller flow has been updated in ArriveCAN to accept PVC (proof of vaccination) to be uploaded to their profile
  • PVC submission is a mandatory requirement and will become enforceable by the Public Health Agency of Canada on January 15, 2022

The ArriveCAN app is available in the Google Play Store and the App Store for iPhone. If you need help with the ArriveCAN app, please see CBSA’s webpage HERE.
